Bar-le-duc White Currant is one of the more delicate currants with a unique flavor that is rich and sweet. While considered a ‘white’ currant, this attractive upright, woody shrub produces abundant clusters of translucent berries. They are full of juice and when popped in the mouth are often compared to the sensation of caviar. Grows 3-6 feet, is perfect for container growing, and produces nectar-rich white flowers in the spring followed by fruit in the summer. Use to garnish your desserts or for making preserves fit for royalty. Self-fertile and hardy in zones 3-8.
