This organic variety has sweet tasting, straight, tapered roots with wide shoulders and pointed ends. Autumn King Imperator carrots are the best choice for late planting and fall and winter harvests. Expect carrots 25-30cm (10-12") long.
Sow seeds from spring into late summer covering your later plantings with lightweight row cover to protect from fall carrot rust flies. Roots can be left in the ground for harvest through the winter. If heavy frost is forecasted, either harvest for winter storage and processing, or mulch with a thick layer of straw or heavy row cover.
